Recently, Holland America made an important change to the way in which onboard refunds are issued to guests in situations when we are unable to process directly to credit cards due to new rules and compliance standards. Historically, we refunded U.S. and Canadian guests via check, and other international guests via HSBC refund link. We are now utilizing Brightwell’s Latitude platform which allows us to issue refunds in multiple currencies via direct-to-bank transfer, debit card reimbursement, or even cash pickup. In order to claim their refund, guests receive a post-cruise e-mail with a link to the Latitude reimbursement site.

Since making this change, we have become aware that some guests are skeptical about the legitimacy of these post-cruise emails and are contacting their travel advisor for assistance. In order to provide you with a method to ensure the validity of these communications, we are offer the following examples for comparison purposes.
