This expedition is designed to offer travelers an immersive experience in one of the world’s last great wilderness areas—the Antarctic Peninsula and South Shetland Islands.
Passengers are active participants in citizen science. With the deployment of portable hydrophone units, they’ll get an audio portal into the underwater world. By assisting experts, they’ll also help protect some of the most majestic marine mammals.
The opportunity to explore alongside Ari Friedlaender, founder of the Friedlaender Lab, a highly respected marine mammal research group at the University of California.
Passengers will also have access to a research associate from Happywhale, the educational platform that engages citizen scientists to identify individual whale species for research and conservation purposes.
